As a Canon shooter I'm inspired and excited by the new EOS 5dmk11 but I'm baffled by Canon's UK Pricing of its latest models.
Nikon seems to get the conversion reasonably accurate throughout their entire range but Canon's are a joke - just look at the US/UK comparison prices between the 5dmk11 and the 1dmk111
Canon & Nikon Price Comparasons from BH Photo USA ($) / Warehouse Express UK (£) all UK prices include VAT (17.5)
Canon
1D Mk111 $4049 - £2399 = very fair
5Dmk11 - $2699.95 - £2299.95 = ??????
you are joking!!!!!!
40D - $969.95 - £600.00 = very fair
50D - $1399.95 - £1199.99 = having a laugh
Nikon

CPN launches CPN magazine
Canon Professional Network has launched a quarterly magazine, published by Canon Europa NV, aimed at complementing the CPN website. CPN magazine, a high-quality, coffee table-type publication, showcases the work of professional photographers who use Canon equipment in image-led articles of between six and 10 pages in length. The publication also profiles some of the most influential figures in photography, and includes news of awards and events, along with a technical and business section. The first issue, that is free to all existing Canon Professional Services (CPS) members in Europe, features an interview with the acclaimed American photographer David Douglas Duncan about his 1951 book, ‘This Is War!’,Oct
On October 3, James Nachtwey who is arguably the most accomplished and celebrated photojournalist working today - will reveal a project that he has been working on thanks to a TED grant - being released simultaneously online, on media channels, and as images projected in public places. My friend Gary shot this of me in action snapping our Prime Minister GB
Sep
Just back from a week working at the Labour Conference in Manchester. It never ceases to amaze me how the media can manipulate facts out of context to create mischief.
The Usual Scrum during the Prime Minister speech. There were a lot more Nikons than last year (to be honest I was expecting a lot more because of the superb D3) but the majority were still using Canon. I nearly switched but I'm glad I held on as this just looks superb. http://www.vincentlaforet.com
